Perhaps you’ve heard the idiom: “Garbage in, garbage out“. Dr. Carolyn Leaf explains, “As we think, we change the physical nature of our brain.” There is much research and many studies now proving that thoughts can affect our physical and mental health. Neuroplasticity is defined as the ability of the brain to actually change its structure and connections based on experiences and learning.
“For as he thinks within himself, so he is.” Proverbs 23:7aNASB
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. Is 55:8NASB
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2NASB
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Phil 4:8NASB
“We are destroying arguments and all arrogance raised against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,” 2 Cor 10:5 NASB
“Stop striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted on the earth.” Ps 46:10NASB
Ask God to reveal any areas of thinking that do not line up with the truth of Scripture or with the knowledge of who God is. Confess to Him and repent. Make a list of Bible verses to help with areas that need to be changed.
