It’s so easy to repeat in our minds what we hear from others, especially things from early childhood. Negative phrases, I like to call them unofficial curses, may replay over and over, imbedding themselves in our conscious and unconscious mind until they become like bedrock in our personalities. This one reason why we must renew our minds with the washing of the Word spoken by God about us.
Here are some examples
1 John 3:1 “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so, we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”
Romans 8:17 “and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.”
Luke 11:28 “But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” Webster’s 1828 dictionary definition of blessed: Happy, prosperous in worldly affairs; enjoying spiritual happiness and the favor of God, enjoying heavenly felicity. made holy, consecrated
Colossians 3:12 “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,”.
Rom 1:7 "To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."
So as one friend said, when the enemy of negative words or thoughts come at you, just remind that enemy of our souls that you are the righteousness of God!
2 Cor 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
